We’re Derek and Josh, lifelong friends who grew up playing tennis and ping-pong in our friends' garages in Southern California. When we discovered the perfect combination of the two sports in Pickleball, we were immediately hooked. 

Our playing journey began in the Pro bracket of the PPA Newport, having only played for two weeks. Our first match was against none other than Zane Navratil & Altaf Merchant. Let's just say we got "pickled" both games. Picture Altaf screaming in your face and pounding his chest while you're still figuring out which side of the court you're supposed to be standing on.

Since that humbling debut, we've come a long way. Our obsession with finding the perfect paddle led us down a path of endless experimentation. We tested every shape, weight, and material, debating the intricacies of each paddle type for hours on end. Between the two of us, we tried every paddle on the market, each one falling short of our vision. Eventually, we realized that if we wanted the perfect paddle, we'd have to create it ourselves.

Through this journey, Pure Paddles was born.
